摘要: Abstract Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is the most potent carcinogen among mycotoxins. Its biosynthesis involves formation of versicolorin A (VerA), whose chemical structure shares many features with AFB1. Our data revealed significant levels VerA in foodstuff from Central Asia and Africa. Given this emerging food risk, it was prime interest to compare toxic effects two mycotoxins against cells originating intestinal tract. We used human colon cell lines (Caco-2, HCT116) investigate cytotoxic process induced by Contrary AFB1, a low dose (1 µM) disturbed expression level thousands genes (18 002 genes). show that doses (1–20 µM) were stronger than same AFB1 both Caco-2 HCT116 lines. In cells, DNA strand breaks led apoptosis reduced replication dividing consequently inhibiting proliferation. Although able induce p53 signaling pathway wild-type its toxicity did not mainly rely on since similar also observed do express p53. conclusion, study provides evidence risk contamination shed light toxicological effect cells.
