摘要: The present work deals with the preparation of cotton linter nanowhiskers (CLNW) by acid hydrolysis and subsequent processing in a high-pressure homogenizer. Prepared CLNW were then used as reinforcing material thermoplastic starch (TPS), an aim to improve its performance properties. Concentration was varied 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 5 wt% TPS. TPS/CLNW nanocomposite films prepared solution-casting process. characterized tensile, differential scanning calorimetry, electron microscopy (SEM), water vapor permeability (WVP), oxygen (OP), X-ray diffraction light transmittance 3 wt% CLNW-loaded TPS demonstrated 88 % improvement tensile strength compared pristine polymer film; whereas, WVP OP decreased 90 92 %, respectively, which is highly appreciable quantity added. DSC thermograms did not show any significant effect on melting temperature Light (Tr) value increased content CLNW. Better interaction between TPS, caused due hydrophilic nature both materials, uniform distribution prime reason for properties observed at loading However, seen have formed agglomerates higher concentration determined from SEM analysis. These can potential use food pharmaceutical packaging applications.
