The association between self perceptions of psychological well-being and overweight in Brazilian children.

摘要: Our objective was to estimate the prevalence and test association between psychological well-being overweight in children. We conducted a cross-sectional study using anthropometrical measures interviews with 1048 6-10-year-old school children from Brazilian town. Overweight assessed by body mass index included obesity. Psychological data of their parents were collected face scale. Poisson regression models used associations obtain unadjusted adjusted ratios (PR). The 15.3% (95% CI: 13.2-17.6) only obesity 3.8% (2.8-5.2). After controlling for age, sex, type parental overweight, 52% 44% higher who reported dissatisfaction themselves mothers when compared those positive self perception (PR = 1.52 95% CI 1.02-2.28; P 0.038) 1.44 1.00-2.09; 0.049), respectively. suggests that actions aiming weight control should take into account aspects families.
