摘要: In agroecosystems, the annual C inputs to soil are a major factor controlling organic matter (SOM) dynamics. However, ability predict balance for agroecosystems is limited because of difficulties in estimating and particular from below-ground part. The objective this paper was estimate proportion corn residue retained as SOM. For that purpose, results 13 long-term (15 yr) field study conducted on continuous silage two rotations along with data existing literature were analyzed. total amount corn-derived (0‐30 cm) about 2.5 3.0 times higher treatment (445 g m 2 ), compared rotational treatments (175 133 corn-barley-barley-wheat corn-underseeded barley hay-hay rotations, respectively). Assuming silage-corn mainly roots would have been similar across an basis, cornderived approximately proportional number years present rotation (4 yr). current indicate 17% root-derived This value than those reported studies shoot-derived (range 7.7 20%, average 12.2%), which agreement previous showing more SOM shoots.
