摘要: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has been used to investigate the responsiveness of maternal rat brain pup-suckling under various experimental paradigms. Our research employing lactating model explored cortical sensory processing pup stimuli and effect suckling on brain's reward system. Suckling was observed increase blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) signal intensity in midbrain, striatum prefrontal cortex, which are areas that receive prominent dopaminergic inputs. The BOLD activation system occurs parallel with extensive areas. regions include olfactory auditory cortex gustatory could correspond representations odours, vocalisations taste active during lactation. Activation patterns within consistent past motivation we explore possibility exposure drugs abuse might be disruptive neural responses pups, particularly cortex. ongoing fMRI studies support extend its functional neurocircuitry.
