摘要: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 0.35 T with a superconductive magnet was performed on 80 patients known or suspected malignant disease of the bone marrow. The group comprised 50 primary malignancy and 30 multiple myeloma. MRI scan correlated plain films radionuclide scans. In 40 metastatic disease, areas decreased signal intensity T1-weighted spin-echo images were observed. Ten had no evidence metastasis, abnormalities scanning shown to be due other causes. All myeloma demonstrated by MRI. This significant, since most normal diagnoses confirmed needle biopsy. sensitive method detecting within marrow toward which biopsy could directed.
