摘要: Building upon a detailed empirical analysis of the local understanding hazards in one geographical area, this paper we offer critique both psychometric and 'risk society' approaches to relationship between lay scientific groups. Specifically, explore connection understandings risk contexts their development application with regard industrial hazard site northeast England. Rather than presenting knowledges as fixed or separable from cultural practices social worldviews, examine relational active construction environmental -- noting significance such factors memory, observation evidence, definitions expertise, credibility, moral discourses. The concludes discussion knowledge, understanding, context. We also consider wider case study for policy more theoretical treatments science its publics.
