摘要: Research on service needs among older adults rarely addresses the special circumstances of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals, such as their reliance friend-centered social networks or experience discrimination from providers. Limited data suggests that LGBT underutilize health services are important in maintaining independence quality life. This study explored care this population using a mixed-methods approach. Data were obtained 210 adults. The average age was 60 years, 71% men, 24% women, 5% intersex. One-third Black, 62% Caucasian. Quantitative assessments found high levels morbidity support networks. Need for use frequently reported. Content analysis revealed unmet basic supports, including housing, economic help with entitlements. opportunities socialization strongly expressed, particularly lesbians. Implications senior programs policies discussed.
