摘要: Purpose – This paper seeks to investigate the possibility of producing medical or dental parts by selective laser melting (SLM). Rapid Manufacturing could be very suitable for these applications due their complex geometry, low volume and strong individualization.Design/methodology/approach The SLM‐process has been optimized fully characterized two biocompatible metal alloys: Ti‐6Al‐4V Co‐Cr‐Mo. Mechanical chemical properties were tested geometrical feasibility, including process accuracy surface roughness, was discussed benchmark studies. By developing a procedure fabricate frameworks prostheses, potential SLM as manufacturing technique proved.Findings Optimized parameters lead part densities up 99.98 percent titanium. Strength stiffness, corrosion behavior, fulfil requirements parts. Surface roughness analyses show some limitations process. Dental frame...
