摘要: An index of kyphosis was estimated with a surveyor's flexicurve. A further measured wedging in vertebral bodies lateral chest radiographs by expressing the sum vertical posterior heights lower six thoracic and discs as percentage corresponding anterior heights. Cross-sectional data showed that both indices increased increasing age each sex. Longitudinal studies confirmed increases were significant but varied widely size. Although cross-sectional suggested greater increase women compared men, longitudinal measurements over five years did not show this. The explained 42% 48% variation men women, respectively. Additional effects due to age, detected only, added 4% variation, possibly from ageing soft tissues. relationship between indices, additional effect persisted year survivors.
