摘要: Background Produced water is generated in huge volumes from oil and gas production facilities. Different alternatives including physical, chemical, biological methods can be applied for the treatment of produced waters. In this study, different pre-treatment used before a final nanofiltration reverse osmosis membrane system were evaluated. A bioreactor pressurized microfiltration ultrafiltration systems stage. Results According to results, highest flux was obtained by combination ultrafiltration/microfiltration nanofiltration; whereas, maximum removal efficiencies conductivity chemical oxygen demand systems. Conclusion The results study show that emphasis should placed on applying right processes instead focusing only pre- or units. © 2012 Society Chemical Industry
