摘要: This chapter discusses the behavior of small-scale, buoyancy-driven, surface frontal systems that form in estuaries and for which Earth’s rotation plays an insignificant role their formation development. Several types are considered: plume fronts, tidal intrusion axial convergence shear-induced fronts. Photographs, both ground aerial, used to show these fronts complexity various estuarine systems. Analyses given help interpretation when brief straightforward, otherwise reference is a more complete source. The inlet Froude number discussed consequences spring–neap cycle.
