摘要: To determine growth patterns of the lung and airways in adolescents, we analyzed maximal expiratory flow-volume curves, closing capacity, residual volume. They were obtained every 6 mo for up to 7 yr 430 boys 125 girls (11–19 yr), whom 143 36 classified as symptomatic; symptoms most often minor limited childhood. Development flows vs. volumes was used investigate relative size. A model isotropic air spaces (J. Appl. Physiol. 65: 822–828, 1988) modified increasing elastic recoil pressure with growth. Growth volume occurred faster teenage than compatible 92% asymptomatic 44% girls: dysanaptic seems be a normal phenomenon not unique characteristic symptomatic subjects.
