摘要: The Sahel corresponds to the transition from dry arid desert wet savannahs, where vegetation exhibits a well-marked seasonal cycle in response West African Monsoon. Precipitation data sets with high spatial and temporal resolutions are therefore relevant investigate dynamics of Sahelian vegetation. Three satellite-based precipitation products (TRMM3B42, RFE2.0, CMORPH) compared tested against kriged rain gauge measurements. objective is evaluate their capability retrieve main characteristics during rainy season. Comparisons performed over 4 year period (2004-2007) at 0.25° × or 0.5° by looking sensitive criteria for vegetation: distribution rainfall field, frequency, spell distribution, amounts. Intercomparisons between satellite conducted belt (10°N-20°N; 20°W-35°E) 1-10 day time scale, while comparisons 10 measurements smaller area (10°N-17.5°N; 17.5°W-2.5°E). distributions good agreement data. Considering daily show them (∼80%). TRMM3B42 product lowest number days, RFE2.0 highest. CMORPH overestimates amounts, both impacts these distinctive behaviors on simulated investigated MODIS LAI, considering studied fields appear as critical issue modeling.
