摘要: The coordination chemistry of the X3M≡MX3 “ethane-like dimers” molybdenum and tungsten is rich varied. Though (Mo≡Mo)6+ (W≡W)6+ units are very similar, there significant differences. ditungsten center notably more readily oxidized this leads to a much extensive organometallic small, unsaturated organic molecules. Many these reactions lead reduction cleavage C—X multiple bonds. In contrast, reductive eliminations occur from Mo2 6+ give 4+ compounds having MM quadruple Furthermore, labile towards forming clusters. M2(OR)6 bears superficial resemblance that Cp2M2(CO)4 compounds, though it evident despite difference in formal oxidation states, reactive as electron reservoirs.
