摘要: Pichia pastoris is a methylotrophic yeast and can be used as heterologous expression system. This microorganism easy to manipulate Escherichia coli, but has many of the advantages eukaryotic (e.g., protein processing, folding, post-translational modifications), it faster, easier, cheaper use than other systems, such baculovirus or mammalian tissue culture. It also generally yields higher levels. overview discusses important considerations for pastoris, including strains expression, plasmids, transformation by integration, modifications. Examples are given finally, legal issues regarding patent rights in described.
