摘要: Traumatic injury or inflammatory irritation of the peripheral nervous system often leads to persistent pathophysiological pain states. It has been well-documented that, after nerve inflammation, functional and anatomical alterations sweep over entire including endings, injured inflamed afferent fibers, dorsal root ganglion (DRG), central terminals in spinal cord. Among all changes, ectopic discharge spontaneous activity primary sensory neurons is great clinical interest, as such discharges doubtless contribute development pathological states neuropathic pain. Two key sources abnormal have identified following injury: fibers (neuroma) leading DRG, DRG somata. The purpose this review provide a global account various animal models Particular attention focused on consequence localized inflammation. Further, mechanisms involved generation are also reviewed; evidence contributing sympathetic sprouting axotomized initiation based new findings from our research group discussed. An improved understanding causes origins should facilitate novel strategies for effective treatment
