摘要: We experimentally demonstrate that standing waves formed by two coherent counter-propagating light can take a variety of forms, offering new approaches to the interrogation and control polarization-sensitive light-matter interactions in ultrathin (subwavelength thickness) media. In contrast familiar energy waves, polarization have constant electric magnetic densities periodically varying state along wave axis. counterintuitively, anisotropic (meta)materials be made sensitive or insensitive such variations adjusting their azimuthal angle.
