摘要: Abstract Human platelet glycoprotein Ib beta (GPIb beta) (M(r) 22,000) is part of the GPIb-V-IX system that constitutes receptor for von Willebrand factor and mediates adhesion in arterial circulation. The four members (GPs alpha, beta, V, IX) share structural functional features. Individually, GPIb contributes to surface expression participates transmembrane signaling through phosphorylation its intracellular domain. To define structure gene, a cosmid clone from human genomic library was analyzed. transcriptional start site located by both primer extension "anchored" polymerase chain reaction. Similar genes IX, gene compact with single 274-base intron inserted into 5' end open reading frame. 5'-flanking region contains GATA ets sites are also found promoter regions other described megakaryocyte/platelet genes. localized chromosome 22q11.2 fluorescence situ hybridization. has simple structure, similar genes, including those system.
