摘要: Cellulitis caused by Escherichia coli in broilers results substantial losses to the broiler industry North America and Europe due condemnations at slaughter. The objective of this study was identify cellulitis Sri Lanka characterize E. from other colibacillosis lesions. Twenty-four farms low- mid-country were selected bacterial isolations obtained 241 birds. Two hundred ninety-one gross lesions observed these birds 162 isolates obtained. 21% Twenty-one per cent had multiple coli. frequency detection disease syndromes (67%) with pericarditis, 26 (11%) airsacculitis, 24 (10%) hepatitis, 12 (5%) perihepatitis, 16 (7%) polyserositis (a combination perihepatitis airsacculitis). Serogroups O78, O2, O85 O88 distributed among 32% typable 81% assigned three biotypes. Forty-four produced aerobactin 88% demonstrated resistance bactericidal effect normal chicken serum. majority resistant antibiotics commonly used poultry. All non-haemolytic 25% K1 capsule. This presence report describes some phenotypic characteristics isolates.
