摘要: Antigenic modulation (the loss of TL antigens from TL+ cells exposed to antibody in the absence lytic complement) has been demonstrated vitro. An ascites leukemia, phenotype TL.1,2,3, which modulates rapidly and completely when incubated with antiserum vitro, was selected for further study phenomenon. Over a wide range concentrations at 37°C detectable within 10 min complete approximately 1 hr. The were initially sensitized C' by their contact antibody, thereafter losing this sensitivity lysis together cytotoxic test. capacity undergo abolished actinomycin D iodoacetamide, reducing temperature incubation 0°C. Thus apparently is an active cellular process. Antigens TL. 1,2, 3 are all modulated anti-TL.1,3 serum anti-TL.3 serum. This affects three components together, even one or two them lacking. aAnti-TL.2 does not induce fact impairs other antibodies. influence upon demonstrable content H-2 (D region) isoantigen, first shown vivo, observed Cells undergoing show progressive increase antigen over period 4 hr, no change K region. Restoration after removal less rapid than → TL- may require several cell divisions.
