摘要: Heavy particle, electron, and UV photon bombardment of solid surfaces has been recently observed to result in the emission infrared, visible, ultraviolet radiation. This effect occurs over a wide range incident projectile energies. Line radiation arising from transitions between discrete atomic or molecular levels may be attributed decay excited particles which have sputtered electronically/chemically desorbed surface. Broadband continuum radiation, is also observed, believed arise either fluorescence near surface bulk radiative clusters. Spacecraft, ambient Earth environment, are subject such bombardment. The dynamics energetic particle beam interactions with lead erosion glow phenomena will treated. In addition, projected experimental theoretical studies oxygen nitrogen on materials characteristic spacecraft discussed.
