How do adolescents adjust to their parent's multiple sclerosis? An interview study.

摘要: Objectives: the aim of this study was to explore how adolescents with a parent multiple sclerosis (MS) adjust their parents' illness. Design: we used an inductive qualitative approach open ended questions as appropriate facilitate development broad and child-centred understanding which resources they use cope challenges that are associated parental MS. Methods: fifteen semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted. Interviews audiotaped, transcribed, analysed using thematic analysis. Results: described both positive negative experiences related having Benefits MS included reports feeling more empathetic others grown-up. Negative impacts family tension, less time spend friends, worries about future. The support from well parent, siblings, friends found adolescents' adjustment.
