Early stage I carcinoma of the vulva treated with ipsilateral superficial inguinal lymphadenectomy and modified radical hemivulvectomy: a prospective study of the Gynecologic Oncology Group.

摘要: Although cure rates are high, the morbidity of radical operation for carcinoma vulva is substantial. Between 1983-1989, member institutions Gynecologic Oncology Group entered 155 patients in a prospective evaluation modified hemivulvectomy and ipsilateral inguinal lymphadenecctomy clinical stage I vulvar cancer. Only with neoplastic thickness 5 mm or less, without vascular space invasion, negative lymph nodes were eligible this study. There have been 19 recurrences seven deaths from disease among 121 evaluable patients. Patients whose recurred on frequently (eight ten patients) salvaged by further operation. Five due to cancer occurred first recurrence was groin. Acute long-term as well hospital stay each less than Group's previous experience comparable patient population treated vulvectomy bilateral inguinal-femoral lymphadenectomy. significantly increased risk but not death when compared these same historic controls.
