摘要: Analytic solutions are derived for simple models of equatorial wave-CISK with conditional (positive-only) heating. Conditional heating favors an unstable mode having a single wet region infinitesimal width. This result helps explain model simulations tropical superclusters and intraseasonal oscillations. Mechanisms scale selection propagation discussed, the is generalized to include evaporation-wind feedback, multiple vertical-mode CISK, scale-dependent damping. The first two mechanisms cause zonal propagation, without selection. Scale-dependent damping breaks inviscid continuum (wherein modes exist as continuous function width) into discrete unique horizontal structure phase speed.
