摘要: Abstract Background: GB virus C is a positive-strand RNA that associated with hepatitis in humans. bears some resemblance to its genomic sequence and organization. However, unlike virus, an open reading frame possessing complete core protein was not identified the original isolate. Methods: To verify at 5′-end of genome, we amplified approximately 600 nucleotides from this region 35 globally distributed individuals. The nucleotide sequences were translated all possible frames then examined for conserved motifs indicative nucleocapsid or core-like peptides. Results: Forty-two unique obtained deduced amino acid upstream putative E1 gene each isolate varied length composition, such apparent. No evident other frames. There was, however, single methionine codon held common among isolates, although it located very near presumed amino-terminus protein. Further analysis their evolutionary relatedness demonstrated existence five subtypes significant correlation geographic distribution. Conclusions: differs B does encode emphasizes importance investigating between infecting subtype severity liver disease and/or responsiveness treatment C-associated hepatitis.
