Knowledge, attitude and practice on cervical cancer and screening: a survey of men and women in Swaziland

摘要: Background Cervical cancer is the most common among females in Swaziland, yet screening rate remains low. The study intended to explore knowledge, attitudes and practice on cervical screening. Methods A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted 202 men 213 women aged 30-65 years. participants were from Manzini Shiselweni regions of sampled both rural (77.8%) urban areas. Results About half (53.5%) 22.8% correctly named at least one symptom cancer. Many (58.1%) had misconceptions risk factors cancer, such as witchcraft, abortion, or birth control. Only 5.2% been screened. Among women, 40.0% reported that they need seek their spouses' permission visit clinic.
