摘要: Tritrichomonas foetus KV(1), a nitroimidazole-susceptible strain, and KV(1)/M100, its nitroimidazole-resistant daughter differed markedly in their vivo susceptibility to metronidazole. In vitro testing multiwell plates tubes with different trichomonad media containing no, or low concentrations of, ascorbate demonstrated that the resistant strain behaves like susceptible one, if tested under anaerobic conditions (deep cultures jars), but shows resistance presence of air (multiwell exposed air). high ascorbate, no was observed even air. The results suggest two strains differ regulation internal redox systems underscore role methods may play detection protozoan parasites.
