摘要: Background/aims To evaluate the Boston type 1 keratoprosthesis (KPro-1) in treatment of eyes with primary congenital glaucoma. Methods A retrospective review was performed every eye glaucoma that treated a KPro-1 at tertiary care centre between January 2008 and July 2014. The main outcome measures were visual outcome, prosthesis retention postoperative complications. Results Six six patients met inclusion criteria. This included two paediatric patients, aged 6 months 6 years, four adults who 27–33 years age. Preoperatively, best corrected acuity (BCVA) worse than 20/400 eye. Three had hand motions one light perception vision. After mean follow-up period 31 months (range 16–51 months), three (50.0%) BCVA ≥20/400. Overall, improved (66.7%), remained same (33.3%). device retained (83.3%). One or more complications occurred five (83.3%) sterile corneal ulceration (three eyes), retroprosthetic membrane formation progressive glaucomatous optic neuropathy (two extrusion (one eye) an epiretinal eye). Conclusions has excellent prognosis for remains guarded due to high prevalence pre-existing ocular comorbidity common occurrence sight-threatening
