摘要: We present the first GPS estimate of crustal extension in central Apennines (Italy) through analysis deformation a sub-network National Geodetic network IGM95 interval 1994–1999. The selected spans entire active belt perpendicularly to its axis and allows evaluation (1) total rate absorbed this sector (2) seismogenic potential normal faults Late Pleistocene-Holocene within network. Results reoccupation are consistent with an extensional strain 0.18 × 10−6 yr−1 concentrated area about 35 km width, giving average 6±2 mm/yr across Apennines. pattern suggests elastic accumulation on westernmost two fault systems may also suggest presence another system not recognized so far.
