摘要: This study tested the efficacy of Zn-Al sulphate layered double hydroxides (LDH) as sorbent to remove antimony from circum-neutral solutions. Results experimentation showed that Sb(V) in anionic form Sb(OH)6 − can be efficiently removed aqueous solutions through an exchange process with SO4 2− present interlayer; total removal achieved within 6–24 h for A ≥2, where is ratio maximum theoretical anion capacity (AEC) initial Sb concentration, both expressed milliequivalents per liter. The complex rearrangement LDH structure host interlayer correlated fast contaminant, followed by a progressive slowing down process. overall speed again direct function A; practice, dose should carefully evaluated balance cost/efficacy/timing water treatment. Comparison previous studies documenting arsenate and molybdate indicates comparable affinity As(V) Sb(V), higher than Mo(VI). results this reinforce possible key role LDHs treatment pH ranging moderately alkaline, thanks their capability rearrange original order different-sized/charged anions.
