摘要: Abstract A treatment strategy employing adsorption and solar assisted photocatalytic processes was field tested at Tyndall Air Force Base (Florida) for removal destruction of organic contaminants in groundwater. The adsorbents were impregnated with photoactive catalysts used packed beds to remove pollutants from water 18 h per day. spent regenerated 6 day the presence sunlight while passing hot (90°C) counter current flow direction during process. organics that not destroyed regeneration by catalyst-impregnated adsorbent using a fixed bed reactor. process examined 10 cycles contaminated BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, o-xylene, m-xylene, p-xylene) compounds. efficiency (ratio amount removed adsorbed) regenerate each cycle. laboratory study also conducted under controlled conditions tetrachloroethylene as model compound examine 8 regeneration.
