摘要: Base isolation is the most popular seismic protection technique for civil engineering structures. However, research has revealed that traditional base system due to its passive nature vulnerable two kinds of earthquakes, i.e. near-fault and far-fault earthquakes. A great deal effort been dedicated improve performance these types This paper presents a recent breakthrough on development novel adaptive as quest ultimate structures, utilizing field-dependent property magnetorheological elastomer (MRE). isolator was developed key element form smart system. The contains unique laminated structure steel MR layers, which enable large-scale applications, solenoid provide sufficient uniform magnetic field energizing elastomers. With controllable shear modulus/damping elastomer, possesses lateral stiffness while maintaining adequate vertical loading capacity. In this paper, comprehensive review present including designs, analysis testing prototypical isolators different MRE materials. Experimental results show first can increase up 37.49%, second provides amazing to1630%. Such range makes it highly practical developing new either semi-active or controls.
