摘要: Stratification and mixing patterns of a water body are influenced by the variability atmospheric systems, which can also modify their biogeochemical properties. The primary goal this study was to analyze effect cold fronts (CFs) on thermal stratification quality parameters in 4 embayments Furnas Hydroelectric Reservoir (FHR) (southeastern Brazil), warm monomictic body. A secondary evaluate implications aquaculture Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (L.) net cages. 2 yr dataset meteorological used compute heat flux balance components buoyancy frequency. These were influence CFs FHR column stability quality. It observed that passing increased loss wind velocity, resulting partial mixture surface waters with deeper layers. changes physical structure altered diel cycle temperature, led slight decrease dissolved oxygen concentrations pH values during period, contributed increase dilution power at fish cultivation sites. However, following CF passages, no significant FHR. Nevertheless, understanding systems properties an aquatic system is important for optimal management activities.
