A power control MAC protocol for ad hoc networks

摘要: This paper presents a power control MAC protocol based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Several researchers have proposed simple modification of to incorporate control. The main idea these schemes is use different levels for RTS-CTS and DATA-ACK. Specifically, maximum transmit used RTS-CTS, minimum required DATA-ACK transmissions in order save energy. However, we show that this scheme can degrade network throughput result higher energy consumption than using without We propose an improved which does not yields saving.
