PALEOGENE SEA SNAKES FROM THE EASTERN PART OF TETHYS

摘要: Nessovophis tamdy gen. et sp. nov. (Nigerophiidae, middle Eocene, Bartonian), zhylga (early Ypresian), Palaeophis ferganicus udovichenkoi (middle – ?late Bartonian ?Priabonian), nessovi (late Priabonian), and Pterosphenus muruntau Bartonian) are described Vialovophis zhylan Nessov, 1984 (?latest Paleocene) is redescribed on the basis of 45 isolated vertebrae from 8 localities in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine. Phylogenetic analysis Cretaceous-Paleogene taxa sea snakes reveals two monophyletic groups: Palaeophiidae ( ) Nigerophiidae Nigerophis , Woutersophis ).
