摘要: Widespread antibiotic resistance is a major incentive for the investigation of novel ways to treat or prevent infections. Much effort has been put into discovery peptides in nature accompanied by manipulation natural improve activity and decrease toxicity. The ever increasing knowledge about bacteria quorum sensing have presented itself as another mechanism disrupt infection process. We shown that (QS) peptide, competence-stimulating peptide (CSP), used caries causing Streptococcus mutans when higher than normally present concentrations can actually contribute cell death S. mutans. Using an analogue this (KBI-3221), we it be beneficial at decreasing biofilm various species. This chapter looks number assay methods test inhibitory effects their analogues on growth formation oral bacteria.
