Recent studies have reaffirmed the primary focus reduced fat cholesterol intake, but there also mounting evidence that other beyond may play a significant supporting role prevention heart disease. Dietary fiber, soy, antioxidant vitamins, decreased plasma homocystine levels, phytochemicals, flavonoids appear offer advantages enhance complement lipidmodified aspect anthiatherogenic diet. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains major contributors can safely be recommended health promoting attributes as well. Future will help quantify validate associations provide possible long-term benefits.
