摘要: Hippocampal pathology is central to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other forms of dementia such as frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). Autopsy studies have shown that certain hippocampal subfields are more vulnerable than others AD FTLD pathology, in particular the subiculum cornu ammonis 1 (CA1). We conducted shape analysis hippocampi segmented from structural T1 MRI images on clinically diagnosed patients controls. The subjects included 19 35 [13 (FTD), 13 semantic (SD), 9 progressive nonfluent aphasia (PNFA)] 21 Compared controls, SD displayed severe atrophy whole left hippocampus. PNFA FTD also side, restricted head FTD. Finally, most body with relative sparing head. Consistent neuropathological studies, atrophic deformation was found CA1 areas AD.
