A Study of the Ampang Landfill Leachate Characteristics and its Effects on River Water Quality Parameters

摘要: Physical and inorganic parameters have been measured for leachate from the Ampang Municipal Landfill before after landfill was closed. Although there were significant reduction in parameter concentrations closure, COD value still 20 times higher than requirement of EQA 1974 Standard A. BOD, TSS, Fe, Mg, Cd Pb also Standards requirements closure. The effects seeping into Michu River, investigated through analyses water samples taken along Langat Rivers up to Puncak Niaga River intake point. Reduction values occurred with increase time closure distance source. Occasional at certain sampling stations could be attributed discharge various anthropogenic activities upstream.
