摘要: One hundred and twenty authentic olive oil samples of the two major Cretan cultivars, Koroneiki Mastoidis, collected at different maturity stages have been obtained from producing areas analysed by isocratic high-performance liquid chromatography according to official EC method. Multivariate analysis, including principal component analysis canonical discrimination were used characterize oils cultivar, location sampling date. Using triglyceride compositional data, varieties examined sufficiently separated means discriminant procedures. Within each variety grouped quite clearly their geographic origin. Samples that originated neighbouring locations with no marked differences in morphology, or some extremes climatic conditions, presented discrepancies classification.© 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd
