摘要: The boron microscopic distribution in brain tissue sections is an extremely important issue for the success of neutron capture therapy cancer. We present first results a new approach to assess this and its homogeneity: photoelectron spectromicroscopy with synchrotron radiation enabled us detect rat specimens lateral resolution 0.2 μm detection sensitivity few ppm. These experiments were performed by newly commissioned MEPHISTO spectromicroscope (from French acronym “Microscope Emission de Photoe lectrons par Illumination Synchrotronique Type Onduleur”, or “Photoelectron Microscope Synchrotron Undulator Illumination”). from two rats injected BPA (boronophenylalanine) BSH (dodecahydro-dodecaborate). found only cancer-related structures, higher concentration BPA-treated than BSH-case. are good agreement quantitative obtained inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy.
