摘要: Beads of chitosan-sodium alginate are prepared from naturally occurring biopolymers, chitosan (a cationic polysaccharide) and sodium (an anionic polysaccharide). These beads treated with CaCl(2) in order to improve the stability as well sorption capacity biosorbent. The resulting chitosan-alginate characterized by BET surface area analysis, Fourier transformer infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WXRD) techniques. efficiency biosorbent is studied measuring uptake using equilibrium batch technique breakthrough curves obtained column flow experiments. effect pH, contact time, initial concentration adsorbate amount on adsorption investigated. data fitted first-order second-order kinetic equations, Weber-Morris model. Freundlich, Langmuir Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm models used for description biosorption process. Further, break-through sorbent loaded phenol o-chlorophenol regenerated 0.1M NaOH solution. experimental results suggest that chitosan-calcium blended effective removal an aqueous medium.
