摘要: Twenty narcoleptic patients and ten age-matched normals were polygraphically monitored for 58 consecutive hours. All subjects on regimented sleep (hours between 2230 0700). Group A (11 10 normals) had enforced wakefulness during the day whereas B (9 patients) permitted to (mean = 2 1/2 hr.). On 2, all 15-min periods every hr. In narcoloptics, recordings demonstrated a reduction of latency, an increase stage 1, decrease in stages 3 4 compared normals, but total REM time percentage similar. Groups showed no difference incidence nocturnal awakenings. cyclic periodicity was larger narcoleptics who also REM-sleep fragmentation. This fragmentation became more pronounced as passed, with several shifts from 1. Narcoleptics present onset period show inability remain sleep.
