摘要: In science, a relatively small pool of researchers garners disproportionally large number citations. Still, very little is known about the social characteristics highly cited scientists. This unfortunate as these wield disproportional impact on their fields, and study scientists can enhance our understanding conditions which foster work, systematic inequalities exist in scientific careers more generally. provides information this understudied subject by examining opinions 0.1% most environmental ecologists. Overall, tend to reflect broader patterns inequality global community. However, while mirror those other elites important ways, they differ others, revealing findings are both novel surprising, perhaps indicating multiple pathways becoming cited.
