Human toxocariasis: a seroepidemiological survey in the Amazonian city of Yurimaguas, Peru.

摘要: The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence infection by Toxocara in general population Amazonian city Yurimaguas, Peru. From March August 2008, a total 300 subjects were sampled and tested means ELISA-IgG test. A clinical epidemiological questionnaire used assess symptomatology risk factors associated with human toxocariasis. overall rate seropositivity 35.66%, significant high proportion children (p < 0.001). evaluation revealed that 95.33% seropositive group had some type symptomatology: headache (66.36%), respiratory compromise (63.55%), abdominal pain (54.21%), cutaneous signs (40.19%) ocular manifestations (36.45%), almost all them statistically Furthermore, 56.07% presented at least one intestinal pathogen parasite predominance helminthes, but without association = 0.334). analysis showed only use public places geophagia exhibited Clinical, serological findings observed present future studies should be done serious health problem.
