Complex care core curriculum for pediatric post-graduate trainees: Results of a North American needs assessment

摘要: PURPOSE: There are increasing numbers of children with chronic, complex conditions requiring comprehensive care, however post-graduate training in this field is limited. Lack may contribute to reticence engaging their care. Although medical complexity (CMC) heterogeneous, care needs similar. We aimed address a lack explicit via standardized curriculum. As an initial step, collaborative assessment key content was developed. METHODS: An on-line survey drafted learning objectives sent professionals skilled Participants indicated if objective should be obtained by the end Junior residency (PGY2), Senior (PGY4), or not at all. RESULTS: Eighty-two Canadian and US participated; 60.3% practiced University Health Centre 60% cared for CMC participated pediatric postgraduate education. Over 80% felt that home concept understood PGY2, trainees develop plan PGY4. CONCLUSION:This supported provided information on expected competency time line knowledge skill acquisition. Additional comments will used revise objectives.
