摘要: Objective.  To describe the natural course of patients with acute neck pain presenting in general practice and to identify prognostic factors for recovery sick leave. Design.  We conducted a prospective cohort study 1-year follow-up practice. Questionnaires were collected at baseline after 6, 12, 26, 52 weeks. Days leave dichotomized into two groups: below above 7 days leave. Logistic regression was used leave. Patients.  Consecutive nonspecific lasting no longer than 6 weeks invited participate. Results.  One hundred eighty-seven included 138 (74%) provided data. After 1 year, 76% stated be fully recovered or much improved, although 47% reported have ongoing pain. Almost half on returned work within days. Multivariate analysis showed that highest association advice practitioner (GP) “to wait see” (odds ratio [OR] 6.7, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.6–31.8). For leave, referral by GP, physical therapy medical specialist, (OR 2.8, CI 1.0–8.4). Conclusion.  Acute had good prognosis majority patients, but still relatively high proportion follow-up. The given GP associated recovery, “referral” prolonged
