摘要: Many strains of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) require exposure to prolonged cold for rapid flowering, a process known as vernalization. Vernalization in results the suppression FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC), repressor flowering. In screen mutants that no longer vernalization we identified dominant allele Enhancer Zeste E(z) ortholog CURLY LEAF (CLF), clf-59. CLF is Polycomb Group gene, and clf-59 mutant protein contains proline-to-serine transition cysteine-rich region precedes SET domain. Mutant plants are early flowering have reduced FLC expression, but, unlike clf loss-of-function mutants, do not display additional pleiotropic phenotypes. elevated levels trimethylation on lysine 27 histone H3 (H3K27me3) at FLC. Thus, appears be gain-of-function allele, this represses without some components required vernalization-mediated repression. course work, also marked difference H3K27me3 between contain those lack FRIGIDA (FRI) gene. Furthermore, FRI affect occupancy FLC; thus, our work provides insight into molecular role plays delaying onset
