摘要: This article uses qualitative and quantitative evidence to examine child care decision making in Bangkok, Thailand. The preference model developed from data predicts a strong for by relative, even if the has live separately his/her mother, distrust of nonrelative formal care. Overall about three quarters children sample were cared their mother (some whom combining work with care) or another relative when they age 2. Although degree which mothers working setting was strongest predictor being nonmaternal care, higher socioeconomic status also found more likely be less relative's results are discussed light changing roles women society undergoing rapid change.
